Project summary
Folia Water is a start-up company operating in Bangladesh and is currently in the final phase of their pilot project, in which they bring a new type of household filter (from paper/’coffee filter’) to Base of the Pyramid (BoP) consumers. Thanks to a Unilever/DFID transform grant, the pilot project with door-to-door sales has been launched from January 2020 onwards, meaning the organisation is not yet in the full commercialisation phase.
Due to the pandemic, the organisation has decided to extend their pilot project duration by six more months to complete the remaining activities. However, they are facing cash flow issues to execute these activities. Response Facility support was used to keep operations running, continue their sales pilot and increase marketing to generate higher revenues.
