Mr Simon Cohen - Aqua for All

Mr Simon Cohen is a Lead Market Development at Aqua for All.

As a Civil and Environmental Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in delivering WASH programmes across Africa and Asia, Simon provides technical advice and strategic guidance to ensure quality and sustainability within our water and sanitation portfolio.

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh, Simon spent the first 10 years of his career based in Malawi, Angola, Sudan, Mozambique and Turkey (Syria Programme), where he worked as a WASH programme manager for several NGOs. He delivered projects ranging from small scale community led initiatives to large infrastructure development programmes that provided piped water services across regions.

Before joining Aqua for All in 2023, Simon spent six years working for the engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald. As a water and sanitation consultant within the international development services team, Simon provided technical expertise to projects in Nepal, Mozambique, Kenya and South Sudan. He also led digital delivery within the water and sanitation portfolio, developing a specialism in management information systems (MIS) and data visualisation.

Simon is a results orientated team player that enjoys finding solutions to complex challenges. He has a passion for driving change within the WASH sector through innovation, sustainability and digital technology. Since moving to the Netherlands in 2017, he has also developed a passion for road cycling.
