Project summary
MegaGroup and Amref have joined forces to create synergy in their two core competencies: water supply systems and community-led health promotion. This has led to the development of WaterStarters: a franchise that will rehabilitate and/or construct 600 boreholes, impacting the economic and health situation in rural and peri-urban Kenyan communities while offering impact financiers and donors an effective and sustainable program to finance. Aqua for All is supporting piloting the concept and aiming to prove that a blended finance model which includes commercial finance, is possible to create sustainable rural water supply systems while creating the necessary social and health impacts.
