Uptime: Piloting results-based funding for rural water maintenance services in Africa - Aqua for All

The Uptime consortium proposes to create an outcome-payment model to fund rural water maintenance services at scale. Under this grant, we will pilot results-based funding contracts with rural service providers in four African countries with payments based on verifiable operational and financial performance metrics. The immediate goal is to disburse targeted and transparent funding to sustain rural services; the broader goals are to develop the information systems, investment cases, and institutional structures needed to scale a results-based funding model globally.
