The Adventure Project COVID Water Relief Match for Ghana - Saha Global

Scale Response Facility - Drinking water

Project summary

The Adventure Project is a US non-profit organisation that adds venture capital to create jobs in developing countries, focusing on Environment, Health, Hunger and Water. They partner with the Response Facility on behalf of Saha Global in Ghana.

Saha Global is a safe water enterprise (SWE) operating in last-mile communities in Nothern Ghana. They employ an implementation team that launches women-led water treatment businesses in communities with no existing clean water sources or projects.

Due to COVID-19, the government of Ghana mandated the free handout of water. In alignment with this, Saha created Emergency Water Funds (EWF) for each of their partner communities which allowed access to free water. The funds also provide support with hygiene education and PPE.

The Response Facility supported Saha Global to cover the final three months of the EWF (January – March 2021) and helped to transition all communities back to their regular social enterprise model.
