Project summary
Sanivation is partnering with water utilities to structure innovative yet bankable projects to scale sustainable (faecal) waste to value solutions. By securing projects in partnerships with local government and international financial institutions, Sanivation aims to replicate waste to value solutions and as a business can earn revenue from designing, building, and operating the city-wide treatment plants. Sanivation has shown that city-wide, waste-to-value treatment plants can be operationally sustained through the production and sale of reuse products, enabling this infrastructure to have long-term sustainability. Aqua for All supports this ambition by enabling Sanivation to reach the following goals:
– Verify that a proposed faecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP) concept is technically, economically, financially and environmentally feasible to implement and operate.
– Make the selected utilities and county administrations aware of the need to prioritise sanitation in their planning processes.
– Jointly structure FSTP projects with utilities and local county governments to access funding from international finance institutions for replication of these waste-to-value solutions.
