Project summary
In 2021, Aqua for All, World Waternet and Accenture launched the first Sarphati Sanitation Challenge. The Challenge is a transformation of the Sarphati Sanitation Awards, which have sought to honour entrepreneurial contributions to the global sanitation challenge since 2013.
The theme for this edition was “Sanitation and Health”. We called on entrepreneurs with a viable, scalable and locally-embedded sanitation solution to apply, in order to accelerate access to safe sanitation for all. The winner received a catalytic grant of €100,000 to boost their solution and additional support from Accenture in the scaling-up journey.
