PME Performantes SCALE - Aqua for All

This 2-year Acceleration programme called ‘PME Performantes SCALE programme’ is a follow-up on the successful TA programme ‘PME Performantes, in which 10 Burkinabe WASH SMEs were supported by implementing partner ForthInvestment, to develop and improve their business through capacity building and dedicated seed capital support.

This next phase is focused on providing these WASH SMEs with access to financial resources to operationalise the investment needs of each enterprise. This will help the SMEs to grow and develop sustainably and reach more impact while getting acquainted with repayable finance.

This Acceleration programme combines capacity building with innovative finance, by offering a tailor-made mix of financing options (seed capital, soft loans and equity/mezzanine finance) based on the 10 investment dossiers and business plans that are developed. Besides providing financing, support will be provided by ForthInvestment to the SMEs to ensure adequate implementation and reimbursement.

This programme works at the intersection of market development and innovative finance, as it aims to scale local WASH enterprises by pioneering an innovative finance ‘mechanism’ in Burkina Faso to overcome the challenges of SMEs related to access to finance.
