Project summary
This project is a pioneering large-scale initiative in the field of decentralised solutions for water and sanitation in Burkina Faso. Focusing on the villages surrounding the city of Bobo-Dioulasso, it aims at creating an offer of safe drinking water and sanitation at a low price. This is achieved through traditional water supply systems upgraded to water kiosks, in parallel with low-cost latrines. SCP has put together a high-level consortium in order to design and implement innovative approaches, including social marketing and entrepreneurship.
Aqua for All is supporting Société Canal de Provence (SCP) in introducing the Oshun treatment technology and piloting the business model for selling two different water qualities: treated drinking water and non-treated water for households and agricultural purposes.
