Project summary
Due to the increased COVID situation in Bangladesh and resulting lockdown, SJP is facing a second wave of Covid-related challenges. As they work in the slums, many customers are facing economic troubles due to the inability to work and earn money. Further, the lockdown has meant SJP has had to put on hold field activities such as construction of latrines, establishing piped connections, and promotion of their services while continuing emergency services and repairs.
Response Facility support was granted to support SJP during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in order to continue to cover staff salaries, continue water provision and make activities safer for staff and customers in the slums.
