Aqua for All

Our partners

The Netherlands has long been recognised as a pioneer in water management, leveraging unique market expertise and centuries of experience. Aqua for All is proud to be at the forefront of the water and sanitation sector, with a robust pipeline of partnerships and consistent recognition at high-level forums and industry events.

This leadership is evident in the numerous events we host and our active participation in learning opportunities. Additionally, we play a key role in high-level discussions, helping to solidify the Dutch position as a global leader in water and sanitation.

Promoting Dutch Trade and Economic Interests

Water is vital to the value chains of countless companies, ensuring sustainable access to clean water enhances living conditions and boosts productivity for local and Dutch businesses.

As part of the renowned Dutch water sector, Aqua for All plays a central role, partnering with stakeholders across the Dutch Diamond: government, businesses, knowledge institutions, civil society organisations, and financiers.

Through strategic partnerships with organisations and platforms like the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP), we offer funding opportunities and facilitate knowledge exchange. We connect businesses, financiers, foundations, and key Dutch stakeholders to address local water and sanitation challenges.

Our innovative approach fosters collaboration and drives change, unlocking the full potential of the water and sanitation sector. Through these efforts, we contribute significantly to maintaining and advancing the Netherlands’ leadership in the water sector.

Our collaborations include, among others:

  • Dutch companies: direct support to Safisana, Susteq, aQysta, Basic Water Needs (Tulip Filter), Nazava (funded by Dutch entrepreneurs), and Max Foundation.
  • Dutch experts and consultants: regularly hired for specialist advice or independent research from organisations: IRC, MDF, Royal HaskoningDHV, Open Capital, Rebel Group, Fair and Sustainable, and Accenture NL.
  • Dutch international development organisations and foundations we have collaborated with in past and ongoing programmes: WASTE/FINISH Mondial, Amref Health Africa NL & MegaGroup, RVO, VEI and World Waternet, Akvo, Justdiggit, Made Blue, Marie-Stella-Maris Foundation, Vitol Foundation, MetaMeta, VOx Impuls, and the ILF Foundation.
  • Dutch asset managers: Cardano Development (acquired by Mercer), Oikocredit International, Evenpar, and Triple Jump.

Collaboration in networks and partnerships

Transforming the water and sanitation sector requires sharing and embracing innovative approaches. Together with our stakeholders, we amplify our impact and accelerate progress towards achieving universal access to water and sanitation on a global scale. That is why we engage with private and public stakeholders – including donors, foundations, asset managers, and multilateral financial institutions – to improve financial and market development practices and explore new avenues for optimising the use of resources.

We are well-positioned to catalyse system change and inspire others to support the bridging of the sector’s finance and service gaps.

Since 2021, Aqua for All has led the WASH Action Group of the e-MFP to promote sector investments and address investor needs. In addition, as a member of the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), we leads its Water Solutions Innovation Hub. Among GIIN’s members are 27 Dutch commercial and impact investors.

By sharing expertise and promoting water investments, we assist the Dutch financial community and support both Dutch-linked and local water and sanitation enterprises.

In 2024, we hosted a webinar on “Carbon credits – Introduction for financial institutions” in Kenya and Uganda, attended by more than 175 representatives of financial institutions.

Networks we collaborate with include GIIN, NWP, blended finance platform Convergence, the WASH Funders Group, Impact Europe, the Toilet Board Coalition (TBC), e-MFP, and the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).
