Mr Adriaan Ruijmschoot
Adriaan Ruijmschoot works at Aqua for All as Senior WASH Programme Manager.
He is responsible for programmes in the West Africa region supporting water and sanitation SMEs to mature and scale. With 15+ years of experience in the water sector, he anchors water expertise at Aqua for All. His areas of expertise are a.o. water utility management, non-revenue water reduction, integrated water resource management and climate change adaptation.
Prior to Aqua for All, Adriaan has worked for VEI for ten years in a variety of roles on water utility partnerships across Africa and Asia. After providing project implementation and proposal development support in Malawi, Mozambique and Ethiopia, he moved to Vietnam as participant of the Young Expert Programme of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He managed several projects in Vietnam and Myanmar, and in 2018 assumed a posting as Resident Project Manager in Mindanao, the Philippines. In this multidisciplinary role he combined leading a close-knit team with technical support to water utilities, and coordinating a diverse partnership of NGO’s, private enterprises and public agencies.
Adriaan holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Water Management from the University of Twente. He is a travel enthusiast and is passionate about water management, nature restoration and sustainability.
