Discussing integration of first wireless readings & database integration
For our project Reducing physical water losses by improved data systems in Kericho, we are seeing how new wireless technologies can complement the mobile (sim card) based ones that we are already deploying with partner BRCK in another project. The reason being that we are looking to lower the cost of smart data collection. More measurements within isolated sections of the network will help narrow in on where Non Revenue Water is highest.
For the pilot stage Springuin.nl has developed first prototypes that will allow us to connect water flow, water pressure and water level sensors to our servers, in particular the WaSHMIS interface that we are developing for and with KEWASCO. These first prototypes are being lab tested in Nairobi and Kericho this week. We will post soon about first results. The picture shows the Upande and Springuin.nl team discussing integration of the data with the backend database and porting it to the user interfaces. Fingers crossed we will have some data to show this month.
