Amref Health Africa who are the lead in the sanitation component in the Sponge City Kajiado Project organized for a stakeholders' meeting between 29th May and 30th May 2018 at Namanga river hotel in which the 1st draft of the Kajiado Municipal Waste Management strategy was developed. This document was illustrated in a drawing. Between 24th July and 27th July 2018, Amref Health Africa had a team from Kajiado County visit some urban sanitation projects in Nakuru County and further revised the 1st Draft of the Kajiado Municipal Waste Management Strategy. The second draft will be shared with a larger group of stakeholders on 6th August 2018 for review or adoption.
The aim of this exchange visit was to understand the urban CLTS as implemented in Nakuru town with a view to adopting best practices for implementation in the Kajiado project. There were lectures on Urban CLTS (by Practical Action), sharing of lessons learnt from other partners implementing the Nakuru projects and field visits in Nakuru project sites.
Thanks for sharing Samwel! Interesting to see that you're exploring a Community-led Total Sanitation approach in your project. Looking forward to seeing the revised waste management strategy after visiting the sites in Nakuru County.
