Prototypes testing by DMS
DMS, Senegalese company and local partner of the Greening Plastic Project, started to test prototypes of Drip Irrigation Systems (DIS). The idea of our project is to focus on the use of recycled plastic for the production of DIS that help farmers saving on their water demand, improve their crop yields and render them more resilient to climate change-induced periods of dry spells and droughts. DIS will be tested against corrosion and abrasion, and product development will make them resistant against UV radiation, shocks or wearing out. Pipes will be totally made in Senegal and produced using polyethylene (PE) with percentages of recycled PE up to 80%.
