The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be finalised in September during a UN meeting in New York. The SDGs are replacing the Millenium Development Goals, and both constitute general aims to reduce poverty in the world. The open working group of the UN proposed to have 1 goal on cities: "Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable". In September, we will know whether the countries agree with this focus. In this document, you can find an explanation of the process and the proposed indicators for the goal on cities.
