Sharing Skills Seminar
During the last days of November, VIA Water will be organising a unique event. From 5 African countries 30 VIA Water project leaders will gather in Nairobi, Kenya, to work on their leadership and project management skills, and to share with each other about their project experiences.
VIA Water aims at being more than just a fund for projects. We want to make sure projects actually make an impact, and innovation succeeds. That is why the Sharing Skills Seminar has been designed to let our project leaders become the best they can be. Because every participant is actually working on his or her own VIA Water project, we will be able to focus more thoroughly on the skills needed for success in their project, even more so than during our Learning Tours. We will focus on project management, finding out what sort of leader the participants are and what skills might be able to bring them further. We will be sharing the lessons learnt, learn from each other’s skills, talk about challenges faced and the methods used to overcome these. Networking with the other project owners will be highly encouraged, and of course we will highlight the benefits our Community might be able to offer our project leaders.
The event is preceded by the first ever Kenya Water Week, and will coincide with the 2nd High-Level Meeting (HLM) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation. VIA Water has applied to organise a side-event during this HLM, and encourages participants of the Sharing Skills Seminar to join us at the HLM after the seminar.
