Sharing knowledge on good quality data gathering, management and sharing

Data gathering and sharing is necessary to contribute to a large need of all stakeholders. Governments need reliable information to base their policies on. Local stakeholders need reliable information to convince decision makers. Investors need information to decide on their next investment. Donors need information to decide where to support the partner. Reliable information is needed for all water sector stakeholders, at any level.

There are organisations and platforms where best practices and ideas can be shared and information can be gained. Please find a few below. Do you know platforms or knowledge hubs you would like to share with us? Please contact us via r.terhorst@viawater.nl

Platforms to gain or share ideas on data gathering

    • free and open access to data about development in countries around the globe
  • http://evaluationtoolbox.net.au/
    • The toolbox aims to provide a one-stop-site for the evaluation of community sustainability engagement projects that aim to change household behaviours. Through the toolbox you can learn how to conduct your own evaluation of a behaviour change project using the guides and templates provided.

    • Modelling and Decision Support Systems (DSS) are complementary tools. A model is a simplified description of a system to assist calculations and predictions. A Decision Support System is a means of collecting data from many sources to inform a decision. Information can include experimental or survey data, output from models and expert or local knowledge.
