© Annemiek KoolInnovating is in many ways like high level sports: you need endurance, dedication, passion and most of your time and energy. That is why the VIA Water pop-up Sportsbar opened its doors on Wednesday November 14th.

About 60 friends of VIA Water came to Rotterdam to hear 12 of our innovators pitch. After receiving some rigourous training from Boukje Vastbinder (Noorderwind) as part of the VIA GO week in the morning, they were ready to share their stories with passion. The innovators talked about the problems they are trying to address, the solutions they have come up with, and the partnerships they are now looking for.

We also heard from Silas Mvulirwenande (IHE Delft Institute for Water Education) on the Postdoc research he is conducting into social water innovations in Africa - including VIA Water. Henk Ovink, Special Envoy International Water Affairs, made a brief stopover - in sports wear! - to inspire everyone to value water and to start acting on water issues now.
