On 3rd June 2016, a group of 36 shortlisted applicants were taken through an assessment process for the EnterWASH team to select the most promising candidates for the programme. The event was held on the exact same day where one year earlier a terrible tragedy happened in Accra due to the poor state of WASH in Ghana.

The selection event took place at the MDF West Africa office and was organised by MDF WA with the support of the Netherlands Embassy. The assessment panel consisted of experts from MDF West Africa, Mr Fred Smiet of the Netherlands Embassy in Ghana and experts from FARIAD.

The applicants were given several assignments on WASH and business, all to affirm to the assessment panel why they are the right candidate for the programme. One assignment involved developing creative ideas to solving the issue of waste management in Accra.

The panel was very impressed with the solutions and finally selected 22 candidates to join the training which starts on 13th of June 2016. The training will take participants through different modules on entrepreneurship and innovation in water, sanitation and hygiene.
