Partnership Model Workshop

Business Model and Business Plan workshops as well as Partnership Model workshops were attended by representatives of the Nakuru Water and Sanitation Services Company (NAWASSCO) and renewable energy focused social enterprise SCODE LTD. A business model canvas was created using the following assumptions: Carbonised briquettes (fire-ball type) will potentially be a successful product for the Nauru market. Target groups can be households, institutions like schools and hospitals, hotels and restaurants as well as poultry farmers and industries. Non-carbonised fuel-pellets will be included as it is a promising fuel for the future. Information from the market study and product research will provide essential information to develop the business model and plans further.

NAWASSCO and SCODE Ltd have been introduced to different partnership models. There is a consensus for a specific model to be adopted. This model clearly indicates ownership of infrastructure; allows for sharing of revenue and clear divisions of roles and responsibilities. The Public Private Partnership model will be finalised after the business plan, which is to demonstrate commercial viability.
