Sponge city close up meeting underway

Stakeholders meeting in Kajiado during the close up meeting for the Sponge City Kajiado project met and resolved to continue with activities that will promote the objectives of the sponge city project.
Besides the already developed rainwater harvesting system at the Kajiado mosque, they resovled to develop more storage capacity at the mosque and at the Kajiado market. The stored water will be used for commercial purposes. Soft water/rain water is currently retailing at Kshs 50.00 or USD 0.5 in Kajiado for 20L. A consortium was formed to be led by NIA in fine tuning a set of activities and mobilizing resources to actualize them.

Good to see commitment to continue on at least the rain water harvesting. With this high sales price there might be business. What does Rain4Sale projects in Uganda and Rwanda advse on this?

We have also checked with Rain Foundation the possibility of encouraging the market group and the mosque group to model their project along the rain for sale projects.
