100% water hyacinth pellets

Waste2Energy partners in Kenya were able to locally produce the first pellet samples. Pellets are made from 100% water hyacinth as well as different ratios of water hyacinth combined with bagasse and sawdust.

Many had warned us that water hyacinth is tough and it might not work. Lesson learnt - you do not know until you try! Pellets are now being tested at Nairobi Universtiy laboratories to establish the best waste ratios for upscaling.
