ILF for WASH Bootcamp - Aqua for All

ILF for WASH Bootcamp

The Bootcamp is one of the technical assistance (TA) tracks available for impact-driven water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) enterprises, as part of the Impact-Linked Fund for WASH (ILF for WASH). ILF for WASH is co-designed and implemented by Aqua for All and Roots of Impact.

The overall goal of the Bootcamp is to prepare selected WASH enterprises to receive Impact-Linked Finance and/or other investments and strengthen the pipeline of potential candidates for receiving Impact-Linked Finance.

The Impact-Linked Finance Bootcamp is implemented by the Social Finance Academy, an initiative of Roots of Impact. Aqua for All is in the lead for the screening and selection of enterprises and provides tailored training sessions and support on mWater on top of the core curriculum. Enterprises that successfully complete the Bootcamp receive a small grant to implement their post-Bootcamp action plan.

Key features

  • Goal: The Impact-Linked Finance Bootcamp is designed to support WASH enterprises to improve their current impact measurement and management (IMM) process and system, and to build up sufficient baseline data to be able to track, optimise and report on their impact performance.
  • Target group: Commercially mature, impact-driven WASH enterprises with an existing yet not fully operationalised IMM process and system.
  • Duration: The programme runs for 4 months and includes group training sessions, one-on-one tutorials, and concludes with a graduation ceremony.
  • Status: Following the third Bootcamp in 2025, we are gearing up for the next edition planned in 2027. Only invited enterprises can apply, and will be assessed using a scorecard system, evaluating their growth stage and the availability and quality of their impact data, among other criteria.
