Ms Waithera Kinyeki
Ms Waithera Kinyeki is the Country Programme Manager Ethiopia at Aqua for All.
Waithera obtained her Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management, and her MBA at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Waithera started her career as an investment analyst at African Merchant Capital where she was responsible for developing a pipeline of potential investments in sub-Saharan Africa, performing due diligence, analysing credit risk, understanding debt funding needs, and monitoring financial and operational performances during the investment’s life. Waithera then worked at BPI Capital Africa in equity research, where she was responsible for the banking, manufacturing and telecom, media and technology (TMT) sectors. She was tasked with analysing earnings calls, regulatory filings, modelling financial statements and industry dynamics, performing valuations, and fulfilling client requests for market updates and market intelligence.
Prior to joining Aqua for All, Waithera worked for Euromonitor International as a consultant on the sustainable projects portfolio in East Africa focused on food and nutrition security, digital financial inclusion, and regional integration and trade. She provided backstopping support in designing, managing, and monitoring technical assistance projects, and structured the delivery of public private partnership projects that drew on commercial and non-commercial financing. Most recently, she was a project consultant for the Swiss Social Stock Exchange (SwiSOX), where she designed and implemented a strategy tool kit for investing and created an integrated service delivery programme structure and operations plan to achieve the desired outcomes.
