Ms Shabana Abbas - Aqua for All

Shabana Abbas is Senior Manager/Lead Innovative Finance at Aqua for All. 

Shabana has over a decade of experience at the intersection of innovative finance, catalytic capital and social innovation and entrepreneurship. Over the years, she has built a strong track record of leading pioneering initiatives and market development projects across different impact themes like water and sanitation infrastructure, circular economy, clean energy and recently in renewable agriculture technologies in frontier markets in Asia and Africa.  

Currently, Shabana works with impact investors and early/growth stage companies in Asia and Africa through structuring and deploying Aqua for All’s catalytic funding into innovative, impact-first blended fund and deal structures. Previously, she worked as programme manager for the VIA Water Programme, which funded 60+ early stage ventures across seven African countries.  

Shabana brings multi-disciplinary educational background and expertise to Aqua for All. She recently completed an executive programme on Impact Finance Innovations from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Further, she holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (Netherlands), and an MBA and BS (Economics and Finance) from the Institute of Business Management (Pakistan). Shabana has also completed an executive programme on Impact Investing and Blended Finance from the University of Zurich.
