Let’s make Sarphati’s legacy accessible for future generations!
During the Opening Ceremony of the AIWW the Sarphati Sanitation Awards will be handed out. In the 19th century in Amsterdam doctor and entrepreneur Samuel Sarphati set up one of the first Public-private partnerships for sanitation.
In sanitation and wastewater management there’s a lot to gain. Access to adequate sanitation will create a sound livelihood and recycling wastewater will contribute to our global water challenges. In cooperation with the Netherlands Water Partnership, World Waternet, the Topsector Water and Waste we asked filmmaker Fabian Krausz to make a film which sheds a light on challenges in wastewater management in different countries.
The film shows examples of how Dutch expertise has supported with approaches and specific solutions. The market asks for innovative solutions and this film shows we have an answer for the water & sanitation challenges of our times, like Sarphati had in his time. Let’s make Dr. Sarphati’s legacy accessible for all future generations!
